Das Improv Festival started in 2019 and then was forced into hiatus in 2020 for… reasons…

We returned with a bang in 2023, and are now an annual improv festival showcasing high-quality comedic improv, in English, for an international audience. Our focus lies on both grounded and game-based long form improv comedy (including long form musical improv).

Das Improv Festival is now a production of Das Improv Collective zur Förderung von Improvisationstheater e.V. (say that 3 times fast), a nonprofit organization we formed in 2024 to promote the improv and comedy cultural scene in Berlin. As a nonprofit festival, our goal is to grow sustainably, create a fair and equitable place for international improvisers to share their art & vision, and to create a community for comedy performers in Berlin. All of our proceeds go to compensating our festival headliners and producing the festival.
